Versatility Challenge Rules
Our challenges are self paced & completed at home!
Open to horses & equestrians of ALL ages, breeds, disciplines, & ability levels.
How Does the Versatility Challenge Work?
Our Versatility Challenge runs once a year and has two options for completing- One based on the rider/driver/handler and one based on the horse.
Equestrian Option- tests the versatility of the rider/drive/handler. You may use multiple horses including going and taking a lesson in a discipline new to you! This is your chance to try something new!
Equine Option- tests the versatility of a specific horse and all activities must be completed with the same horse. (If you have multiple horses you may enter them separately for them each to complete the challenge.)
How do I complete my activity log?
When you register an activity log will be provided for you.
On your activity log you will see activities are divided into 4 categories:
– Ridden/Driven Arena Work,
– Ground Work,
– Trail/Out of Arena Work
– Bonus Activities
For the Versatility Challenges you must complete a total of 20 Activities in at least 3 of the 4 categories.
You may only count a specific activity up to two times.
To fill the provided activity log out simply write the date next to each activity you chose to do for the challenge and at the end of the challenge total your activities- You must have a total of 20 Activities in at least 3 of the 4 categories.
Lesson Rider Rule
For the versatility challenge you are exempt from the total activity count and need only to record your weekly lesson. You do need to still record activities in 3 of the 4 categories to show versatility.
Example Activity Log Below- The Equestrian and Equine Versatility Challenges will both use this log
Rules & Frequently Asked Questions
Can I use more than one horse for a challenge?
- For the Equestrian Option you may use as many horses as you wish as this challenge is based on the rider/driver/handler
- The Equine Option Tests the versatility of a horse and only one horse may be used per entry
- If you have multiple horses you may enter them separately and track activities on separate forms per horse, accumulate the total number of required activities per horse and receive a ribbon for each horse!
How do I submit my activity log?
We now utilize online submission for our logs.
When will ribbons ship?
All ribbons will ship at the end of the challenge.
Do I have to have/use my own horse?
– No- you may count time on lesson/lease horses or any horse you have permission from the owner to use.
How Many Activities Can I do in a Day?
– You may complete up to two activities per day per entry
Can a specific activity count for more than 1 challenge?
– Yes but we encourage you to run challenges as separately as you can
– You may have noticed our challenges overlap- this is because our participants range from those that take lessons to those with one or more horses at home that can ride frequently. The difficulty we faced was determining a number of activities that would be suitable and fair for everyone- our solution was to run multiple challenge at once and allow participants to customize their use of them to fit their situation and goals
